The Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa is a major new cultural institution that will focus on collecting, preserving and exhibiting cutting edge contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora. The Zeitz MOCAA will be the largest museum to open on the African continent for more than a hundred years and is being hailed as one of the “most influential” art institutions in the world. It is to be housed in the historic Grain Silo Complex at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. Development work is currently underway and the museum will open to the public in early 2017.
