Moving is more than changing where you live.
It’s a moment of transition, reflection and new beginnings. And while preparing for your next chapter, it’s also an opportunity to simplify, declutter and give back.
Introducing Sustainable Moving by Pam Golding Properties.
Whether you’re buying, selling or renting, moving often means coming across clothing, toys, sports equipment, blankets, household essentials and other items you no longer need. Instead of throwing them away, Sustainable Moving gives these pre-loved items an opportunity to make a difference in someone else’s life.
A better way to move
Sustainable Moving encourages our clients to consider what they can reuse, repurpose or donate as they prepare for a move.
By donating quality items you no longer need, you can help reduce waste while supporting organisations that make a difference in local communities.
Your donation could help a child and family in need, support a school or Early Childhood Development centre, assist the elderly or provide much-needed supplies to an animal welfare organisation.
What can you donate?
If it can be reused, there’s a good chance we can help find it a new home.
- Pre-loved clothing and children’s toys
- Sports gear and school supplies
- Blankets, bedding and household essentials
- Non-perishable food items
- Pet items, including beds, food and accessories
- Baby items, such as prams, car seats and feeding chairs
- And more
How it works
Participating is simple.
- Let your Pam Golding Properties agent know that you have items you'd like to donate.
- We’ll arrange collection or direct you to one of our participating offices.
- Your donations will be delivered to trusted community organisations where they can make a meaningful difference.
Why Sustainable Moving matters
Moving sustainably is about more than reducing what goes into landfill.
It’s about recognising that something you no longer need could still be useful to someone else. A blanket can offer warmth. A school supply can support a child’s learning. A toy can bring joy. Pet supplies can help an animal welfare organisation care for animals in need.
Small acts of giving can create meaningful impact.
Because when we move with intention, we can do more than move homes. We can help move our communities forward.
Who You’ll Be Helping
Your donations can support children and families in need, schools and Early Childhood Development centres, the elderly and animal welfare organisations.
Some of the organisations we support include:
- Woodrock Animal Shelter
- One Small Act of Kindness
- Matjlie Informal Settlement EDC Centres
- Sunninghill Santa
- CHOC – Childhood Cancer Foundation
- Pineslopes Feral Cats
- HHCU – Highveld Horse Care Unit
- Paws R Us
- Frida Hartley Women and Children Shelter
- CANSA – Cancer Association of South Africa
Each organisation supports a different community or cause, but together they represent the difference that a simple donation can make.
Move homes. Make a difference.
Your next move is a new beginning. Let it be one that gives back, too.
