Each year on 18 July, millions of South Africans are called upon to spend 67 minutes working for the good of others and it’s our privilege to once again host our Jars of Hope initiative, in honour of Mandela Day 2025.
We’re making moments of joy last longer, by extending the usual ’67 minutes of service’ to a drive that will last all throughout Winter.
Please help us to provide a warm, nourishing meal to the vulnerable men & women in our community by filling your empty jars at home with this simple list of dry soup ingredients. Many of us already have these staples at home, and with a little effort, we can make a big difference.
Our Agents and staff will gladly collect your donations from your home, or you are welcome to drop them off at any of our offices.
What you need for a Jar of Hope:
A large jar or container
1 cup rice
1 cup soup mix
1 cup lentils or peas
1 unwrapped stock cube
1 packet of soup powder (optional)
Spices (optional)
Method:
Layer ingredients into any glass jar and close the lid firmly.
