In the property world, Kevin and Kennedy Mpeku are known for record breaking luxury sales and a reputation that precedes them. But long before the Mpeku twins became one of the most formidable duos in real estate, they were already playing a different kind of game, one built on teamwork, discipline and giving back.
Before signing their first property deal, the brothers made a name for themselves on the rugby field, representing King Edward VII School and later the Golden Lions. That grounding in sport shaped more than their athletic careers. It shaped their values.
Today, "Play It Forward" is not just the philosophy behind how the Mpeku twins do business. It is the name of a movement close to their hearts. Play It Forward Jozi is a student led, family supported initiative built on one simple belief: every child deserves access to sport.
Founded in Johannesburg in 2018, Play It Forward Jozi began when a group of students noticed something troubling. Too many young athletes in underprivileged communities did not have the equipment they needed to play the sports they loved. So they decided to do something about it.
Since then, the initiative has collected and distributed second hand sporting equipment, from sports shoes to racquets, bats, hockey sticks, golf clubs, gloves and balls, reaching schools, clubs and young athletes across South Africa.
Their motto says it all: "Uniting all through sport." It is a reminder that sport has a rare power to break down language barriers and social divides, replacing them with belonging, confidence and opportunity for young people who need it most.
Now, Pam Golding Properties is proud to join forces with Play It Forward Jozi, launching an ongoing donation drive across participating Johannesburg offices. Together, we are helping equip the next generation of young athletes, one pair of takkies, one racquet, one bat at a time.
Because when a community plays it forward, everybody wins.
