In 2010 the program to rebuild Jardim Dos Aloes on Ilha Da Moçambique began. The entire building has been restructured, bringing this beautiful old heritage site up to modern standards but still using traditional methods.

Parts of the property were already over 400 years old! The property covers a total of 1.700 Square meters. All construction has been done using coral stones and lime, following the islands' traditional ways. FIVE of the planned eight suites and rooms that were planned are now fully functioning and the permissions are in place to do the next steps of the renovation.

There are more rooms and areas to restore that would be perfect for large kitchen, a breakfast veranda, a garden with a swimming pool, an area for maintenance and finally several potential roof terraces with great views.

The house is decorated in a mix of old and modern styles, mainly from restored local furniture pieces adorned by unique and unusual ornaments. A huge Indian Almond Tree protects the house from the sun and allows for having meals on the main terrace.

The property is located right in the middle of the island, so all of the attractions are within a 5-10 minute walk. From the renewed highest roof terrace, you can see the whole island and watch astonishing sun sets… while enjoying an ice cream or a sorbet.
