"Katy Cooke is without doubt the best agent in Mozambique. We are well seasoned expats, but moving to Africa in the middle of a global pandemic was a whole different level of complexity. Even before we arrived, Katy found us short term accommodation while she worked on finding us long term housing. After we arrived, she saw when we were looking utterly overwhelmed and she swept in to take us to fun lunch places, places where the locals go, so that we got a real taste of Maputo. These circuit breakers helped ‘reset’. She was on to every detail. She even took us to a giant Chinese owned shop to buy the electric water pump that goes on the top of the drinking water bottles. I’d never have found such a device on my own! But it solved the issue of getting clean water from the 20L bottles into cups and jugs without spilling half of it on the floor! Katy was always there. Even at Christmas she was working. When we moved to our long term house (which she organised), she was here to help check off the boxes as they arrived and she chipped in with the removal guys to put together bunk beds and desks. Nothing was too much trouble. Katy is extremely friendly but always highly professional. She’s patient and finds ways to get things done when that’s quite frankly not the culture here.
