Moving from a game farm in Bela-Bela, my biggest concern was would I be able to adapt to the way of living in this concrete jungle of Tshwane. I set off on my new adventure and was pleasantly surprised by my discoveries.
One of them was the Wolwespruit Bike & Trail Park in Erasmuskloof. It was a piece of the bushveld in the city with walking trails, mountain bike trails and even a restaurant & play area. Safety always being a concern was met with the discovery of many boomed-off areas. To name a few – Constantia Glen Security Village (compromising of the boomed-off area of Constantia Park, Waterkloof Glen & Erasmuskloof), Newkloof Security Village (boomed-off area in Newlands), Secura Park (boomed-off area in Garsfontein). Here kids can again play in the streets and learn to ride their bikes. Living most of my life on the farm and small towns where community is top of mind I was delighted to see that in the city this is also a priority with the many community groups that have formed around security and every day life in the suburbs of Constantia Park, Erasmuskloof, Garsfontein, Newlands and Waterkloof Glen.
Some other treasures are The Menlyn Maine Development that is set to boost the surrounding suburbs of Constantia Park, Erasmuskloof, Garsfontein, Newlands and Waterkloof Glen. I was thrilled to discover the concept of eat, play, live and work all in one area. Being a big fan of a cappuccino in the morning I was delighted to become a frequent customer of the Woolworths Café in Menlyn Maine.
