I am Pam.
One of a kind.
I first came to Philippolis more than seven years ago as a writer, when my research brought me to this remarkable Karoo town. From the moment I entered Philippolis, I was hooked. Here, heritage and history are not simply preserved – they are still very much alive.
What started as research became a lasting connection with the town. Over the years I have come to know Philippolis as a resident, local tour guide, property owner and investor, while my involvement in hospitality and tourism has given me an understanding of what attracts people to this part of the Karoo – and what makes them stay.
As a wellness counsellor, I have also worked with the connection between nature, art and wellbeing. Philippolis, with its open landscapes, quiet spaces and creative character, lends itself naturally to retreats and to people looking for space to breathe, create or simply live differently.
Becoming a Property Specialist with Pam Golding Properties felt like a natural extension of this journey. I enjoy introducing people to Philippolis and helping them discover not only a house, but the possibilities that come with living, working or investing here. I believe in presenting property authentically and giving buyers and sellers honest, practical guidance grounded in local knowledge and first-hand experience.
Books, writing, art, history, food and hospitality all form part of my life here, including my involvement with Karoo Artist’s Café and the Old School Bookshop.
I am also an enthusiastic traveller and love exploring different places, cultures and ways of life. But wherever in the world my travels may take me, Philippolis will always be my base – the place I return to and call home.
