International expats from all over the globe as well as South Africans have popularised secure Dainfern Golf and Residential Estate in Fourways, Johannesburg, due to its attractive lifestyle and recreational amenities, as well as its accessibly priced rentals – given its prime location and upmarket appeal, says Kyle Ebben, Pam Golding Properties area rental specialist.

“This is predominantly a primary family destination, with a host of facilities which include children’s parks, an 18-hole golf course, clubhouse and driving range, walking/running paths, dams and streams, and state of the art security. Underlining its international status are tenants from countries as diverse as Brazil, Spain and Belgium.”

Ebben says with its wide-open spaces and easy access to schools – with Dainfern College situated just outside the gate and a number of public and private schools as well as numerous shopping centres within the area, the lockdown has added to its appeal.

Says Ebben: “Since the lockdown we have seen an influx of local families wanting to rent in Dainfern Golf Estate as it enables them to enjoy a quality lifestyle – and work-from-home as required – in a prime, convenient location but with less exposure to health risks amid a ‘green lung’ environment. We are also seeing multi-generational tenants drawn to the estate.

“Rental prices at this estate range from R25 000 per month, and while prices also depend on the size, location within the estate and finishes, they can range up to R60 000 and R70 000 per month. Smaller properties consist of three bedrooms, a garden and garage, while larger properties offer up to six bedrooms en suite – these generally tend to be well-located with some overlooking the golf course,” says Ebben.

Currently most rental activity is for homes priced between R35 000 and R48 000 per month. These properties offer good value, with either three or four bedrooms en suite, a swimming pool, decent size garden and two or three garages.

Within the Dainfern area, other lifestyle estates offering competitive rentals include Dainfern Valley, Dainfern Ridge and Helderfontein Residential Estate. Here, rentals range from R25 000 to R50 000 per month.

Ebben says Dainfern Residential and Golf Estate offers an 18-hole golf course, clubhouse, child-friendly pavilion, children’s parks in most villages, a restaurant and meeting rooms. Residents can also participate in social clubs and fitness activities which include, bridge, running, cycling, walking, soccer, tennis and squash among others. Annual events such as Mothers’ Day and Easter Egg Hunt are some of the calendar highlights for residents.

Schools within the area include Crawford Schools, Fourways High School, Reddam House Helderfontein School, The Johannesburg International School and Steyn City College. Dainfern is also located close to Lanseria International Airport.
