If it’s whales you’re after, Hermanus in Cape Town is the top viewing spot in the world.
So says the British publication, The Telegraph, who have named Hermanus as the place to watch these beautiful mammals.
The quaint coastal village has claimed the title, ahead of other scenic cities such as California in the USA and the Canary Islands in Spain, because the whales come so close to the shore to perform their seasonal acrobatics. There’s really no need to rent a boat to watch the majestic creatures when they come into the bay to mate and calf, usually from June until November.
