The Crocodile River reaches the end of its course when it becomes a tributary of the Komati River. At the confluence of the Komati and Crocodile Rivers lies the town Komatipoort. The town is named after the "poort" or place where the river of cows (Crocodile & Komati Rivers) combine together to flow into Mozambique.
