House for sale in Sedgefield Rural

Space, Views, and Room to Breathe
Exclusive Mandate
Down in the folds of the Sedgefield / Knysna countryside, where the Karatara River winds its way through a patchwork of green, there's a piece of land that feels both tucked away and wide open all at once. It's 1711 square meters of space to breathe, stretch, and settle in, with the mountains keeping watch in the distance.
On this land stand two buildings, each with its own charm.
The main house is a proper home with four bright bedrooms that catch the sun, two bathrooms, and a farm-style kitchen that invites you to linger. There's a wood-burning stove for those evenings when the valley mist drifts close. The kitchen spills into a dining area and a lounge where you can unwind, watch the light change, and feel the day slow down. Spacious Carport for 4 cars.
The second building is smaller but no less charming. An open-plan living, kitchen, and dining space with a single bedroom and bathroom. Perfect for guests who overstay in the best possible way, or perhaps a studio for the creative at heart, or Mom and Dad to stay. There's also a double garage for your wheels or your workshop tinkering.
The real show, though, is outside where the land itself does most of the talking. The valley stretches below, cradled in the mountains' embrace, and the air carries that quiet kind of magic you only get in places like this. It's not just a property. It's a place with a bit of soul, waiting for someone to write the next chapter.
Then also a splash pool for the summer days. Just the right thing for relaxing and overlook the stunning views of the Outeniqua valley and mountains.
The Karatara village which is situated 5 km west of Barrington 20 km from Sedgefield and some 40 km northwest of Knysna, is 10 km from the Karatara River which flows southwards into Swartvlei. The village was founded in 1941 and was a forestry station. The name is of Khoekhoe (Nama) origin, translated from the traditional Khoisan, it means “deep dark shadows” and refers to the Karatara river. Previously the Karatara River was known as the Tsao or Witte Rivier.
