Good day, I’m Ian Straarup and I am the principal agent of the Pam Golding Properties franchise in Rustenburg. I have been with the Pam Golding Properties group and as a franchise principal since 2004. I assist my staff in both the selling of farms and residential properties in and around the Rustenburg area. Prior to working in the real estate industry I worked as a Bond Originator for 2 years before being approached to join a real estate firm. I started working with Pam Golding Properties in 2003 as an agent and became the principal agent in 2004. I have since then completed the Estate Agent Affairs Board exam in 2003 as well as my National Certificate for Generic Management (Real Estate NQF5) in July 2013.
What I love most about working in the real estate industry is the fact that I get to help my staff reach their full potential and I also get enormous satisfaction out of seeing clients well serviced, content and satisfied. I am a true people’s person and absolutely love making people happy and thrive on the daily real estate challenges. I also enjoy assisting my staff in their farm sales, residential properties and run a rental portfolio.
We are surrounded by game farms and I really enjoy spending a leisurely day out there viewing the various game and getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. This is a time that I get to exercise another passion of mine which is photography and I love looking for that unique shot, be it with a zoom lens or a wide angle lens. I’m quite often researching new photographic technology and techniques that are now available.
My family is of utmost importance to me and I value the close bonds I have with them. Any other spare time I have you can find me cycling in and around our Rustenburg area or in the Kgaswane Nature Reserve.
