I am Rustenburg Agent, Doreen Straarup

Good day, my name is Doreen Straarup and I’ve been working with Pam Golding Properties in Rustenburg since 2006. I am part of the administrative staff in the office and also specialise in property sales and doing the occasional rental as well. I believe the property industry is about being a good listener and listing properties well. In having the right stock and a good ear can take the stress out of selling a home and in the process helping a client.

I’ve completed the original Estate Agency Affairs Board exam in 2005 and became an active agent with Pam Golding in 2008 during the height of recession. I then went on to complete my NQF4 in 2011 and passed the PDE exam in 2012. I service Rustenburg as a whole and have recently concluded sales in Safari Gardens to the value of R1 850 000 and another in Waterfall East to the value of R745 000.

What I love most about the property industry is taking a client to view a home that they can instantly fall in love with. Knowing that I have listened well and have been able to meet their criteria brings me great satisfaction and pleasure. I pride myself in being professional, honest and a hard worker. I strive to give my clients the best possible service. I also love the team I work with and being a part of the great Pam Golding brand.

Away from the work environment, I have a huge love for painting in the oil medium and being creative in any form of art. I like gardening and enjoy nature to the fullest which includes going hiking, walking for exercise and cycling. I also love woodwork and often make simple distressed pieces. I pride myself in seeing the potential in just about anything in order to create something great, be it an old home that needs revamping or an old broken bed headboard becoming a wonderful wall piece.

A few more passions of mine are interior decorating, photography, road trips, hiking and spending a day in a Game Reserve amongst nature. Taking time to watch a good movie or to read a good romance novel or read a biography of some great historic figure is also a definite relaxation time for me. My greatest love of all would be to be around my family which I treasure since my children are living abroad. Without my family and friends, I would that much poorer as a person.
