One of a kind.
I'm Gareth Bailey, Area Principal of Pam Golding Properties Durban North & Umhlanga, the franchise serving Durban North, La Lucia, Umhlanga and Umdloti on KwaZulu-Natal's north coast. Together with my business partner and co-principal, Carol Reynolds, I lead a team of more than 60 property professionals across residential and commercial sales, rentals and new developments.
Our office's track record is one I'm proud of. We were named Pam Golding Properties National Office of the Year (Franchise, Large) in 2020, 2024 and 2025, and were runner-up in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2026. In 2022 we were also National Franchise Office of the Year for Rentals. At regional level, we have been Regional Office of the Year by sales value for ten consecutive years (2017–2026), and by unit sales in nine of those ten years. Carol and I have each received the National Franchisee of the Year award.
These results sit within a brand that is consistently recognised as the country's leading agency. Pam Golding Properties has been named Best Real Estate Agency in South Africa 16 times at the International Property Awards, including every cycle from 2021 to 2025, and has been named Best International Real Estate Agency – the top global award – five times, most recently in 2024–2025. Operating under that brand, in this market, is a privilege our office works hard to justify.
I began my real estate career in 2006 after completing a Bachelor of Business Science degree with Honours in Information Systems at the University of Cape Town, and have since qualified as a Professional Practitioner in Real Estate (PPRE) and Master Practitioner in Real Estate (MPRE). Twenty years on, I know this stretch of coastline in detail – from the established family suburbs of Durban North and La Lucia to the Umhlanga beachfront and the estates of Sibaya and Umdloti – and I enjoy helping buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants and investors make well-informed decisions here.
New developments are a particular passion. We work with developers from conceptualisation through to hand-over, and are trusted by leading names in the industry including Growthpoint Properties and FWJK. Projects we have marketed include Coral Point and Signature in Sibaya, The Onyx in Umhlanga New Town Centre, Kent at La Lucia Mall for Growthpoint, and York at Sanctuary Private Estate in Umhlanga Ridge for FWJK.
My background in information systems shapes how we run the business. We invest in technology and data to give our agents a competitive edge – and our clients sharper pricing insight, wider reach and a smoother transaction. Most of all, I enjoy working alongside our agents and administrators in the demanding, rewarding work of selling and letting our clients' homes.
When I'm not busy with property, you'll find me on the mountain bike trails, on our beaches or exploring the outdoors with my family.
