Carol Reynolds

Hi, I am Carol Reynolds, experienced real estate entrepreneur and Area Principal of the Pam Golding Properties' Durban North & Umhlanga franchise. I have more than 30 years of experience in the property industry and I still wake up every day excited about the incredible diversity of real estate - from renovating and decorating to investing, speculating and developing.  

My journey with Pam Golding Properties began in 1994, while I was completing my LLB degree at University. In 1996, I was fortunate enough to be crowned Miss Universe South Africa, an experience that took me on a rather unconventional path of television, travel, eventing and public speaking. While that chapter opened up many doors for me, and was a wonderful interlude, I yearned for a more stable career and my love of property led me back to my real estate roots.

In 2000, I joined the Pam Golding Properties Hout Bay office as an estate agent, before relocating to Durban in 2008 to take on the management of the Durban office. Today, I lead the Durban Coastal franchise, together with my partner, Gareth Bailey, and we have offices serving Durban North, La Lucia, Umhlanga, Umdloti and the surrounding North Coast growth corridor.

I am particularly passionate about property developments and get involved in every aspect of the development journey - from conceptualisation and positioning, through to marketing, sales and investing. Our business has established a strong presence in the development space, and we are proud to be involved in some of the most exciting residential opportunites in the North Durban region. Our track record includes selling prestigious projects such as Signature (Sibaya), Oceans (Umhlanga), Pearls (Umhlanga), Coral Poiint (Sibaya), York (Umhlanga) and our current flagship development: Beachwood Coastal Estate which is located in Durban North.

My academic background has also played an important role in shaping my approach to business and leadership. I hold a Bachelor of Social Science Degree, a Bachelor of Laws, an Honours Degree in Psychology, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management, and a Master's Degree in Psychology, together with an NQF8 qualification in Real Estate. This combination of law, psychology, business management and property, has given me a braod and practical skill set equipping me to support my agents with everything from contracts and sales to the softer human skills that are the hallmark of our prestigois brand. 

I am a strong advocate for continuous learning and self-development, always looking for opportunities to grow, learn and evolve. I believe that great businesses are ultimately built around great people, so I find it extremely rewarding to unlock high-performance teams and watch my agents grow and build successful and sustainable careers in real estate.

Outside of property, I am an avid yogi and a qualified yoga teacher. I currently teach at Virgin Active and love being part of a community of like-minded people. I also enjoy gardening, interior design and renovating properties - so even when I'm not working, there is usually a property project somewhere in the background!

I am a mother of two and value time with family and friends enormously. For me, the greatest privilege of building a career in property has been the opportunity to work with people, create long-term relationships and be part of a business and brand that I am genuinely proud to represent.

With a career spanning more than three decades, I remain as passionate about property today as I was when I first entered the industry as a young law student. I look forward to continuing to build our business and to playing a role in the continued growth of Durban's northern coastal corridor.
