Gansbaai, branded as the Natural Adventure Destination, is a two-hour drive south of Cape Town and the perfect destination for the active nature lover. Whilst world renowned as the Mecca for Great White Sharks, Gansbaai is also home to the Marine Big 5 and a large variety of Endemic, Migrant and Pelagic bird life. Southern Right whales are abundant here in the winter months.

Gansbaai is blessed with floral abundance, half an hour’s drive into the countryside past Hermanus on the R43 and offers a famous botanical landscape with some of the rarest plant species in the world, surrounded by mountains, white beaches and rocky shorelines, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean famous for the Great White Shark and the Southern Right Whale. Gansbaai is known as the "Big-2-Town”, and lies between the mountains and the sea. The recently tarred road between Gansbaai and Bredasdorp opens the area to the Garden route via the R43.

Gansbaai won the African Gold Award for Responsible Tourism at the World Travel Market in Cape Town in 2015.
