I am Mariël Burger, the Regional Head for Gauteng Metro at Pam Golding Properties, based at our Regional Office in Hyde Park, Sandton. With over 20 years in real estate since starting my career in 2004, including nearly two decades at Pam Golding Properties since 2007, I now lead our regional management team across Gauteng Metro, one of Pam Golding's most active regions.
My real estate career began in 2004, after a period spent studying in the Netherlands, where I worked as an Assistant Buyer for De Bijenkorf, a leading Dutch luxury retail brand. Returning to South Africa, I moved into property sales and joined Pam Golding Properties in 2007, initially specialising in sectional title and new development sales in Cape Town's City Bowl and CBD, before advancing into luxury residential sales on the Atlantic Seaboard. That hands on experience in one of South Africa's most competitive luxury markets gave me a deep understanding of high end residential property and large scale developments, a perspective I now bring to leading teams rather than individual sales.
My leadership career has progressed steadily since then. As Branch Manager for Cape Town North from April 2022, I managed both sales and rental teams. I became Branch Manager Sales at Hyde Park in March 2025, and I have been Regional Head Gauteng Metro since September 2025, where I lead the regional management team across branch operations, sales, rentals, marketing and administration, setting strategy and driving performance at a regional level.
I am registered with the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority, known as the PPRA, with Full Status FFC, hold GoldClub 15 Year Elite status, and have been recognised as a member of Pam Golding's Emerald Circle for six consecutive years, an accolade reserved for the group's top performing agents and leaders. My accolades include the 2025 Lion Award, 2025 Office of the Year for Medium Branch, Residential Sales Units Winner in 2014 and 2015, Referral Agent Units Winner from 2018 to 2020, Second Runner Up Agent of the Year in 2017 and 2018, and Development Agent Winner in 2019.
I am fluent in English, Afrikaans and Dutch. Beyond my career, I am a proud dog father and a keen advocate for enjoying South Africa's remarkable outdoor lifestyle.
