Mountain Splendour

This comfortable country lodge is situated in the foothills of the central area of the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park World Heritage Site and offers spectacular views of this timeless mountain range. The property also lends itself for use as a holiday home or a permanent residence. It is being sold fully furnished and equipped, including a tractor and implements, a ride-on mower, one push mower and garden tools. The lodge is bright and welcoming and has two comfortable lounges, one with a Jetmaster wood burning fireplace and the second has a bar and television. The dining room also has a fireplace, a buffet counter and it opens out to a delightful patio which overlooks the indigenous forest and the river below. The well-equipped kitchen has a centre island, 2 five plate gas hobs, a double electric oven, a griller, fridges and freezers, a separate pantry and a separate laundry. There is a storeroom, workshop, a guest cloakroom, and staff ablutions. Accommodation consists of three stone clad rondavels under thatch, (which can sleep up to 12, adults and children), manager's accommodation and a fourth rondavel which is under refurbishment. The combined size of the buildings is 445 square metres. There is the potential to further develop a bush camp situated next to the river. The tranquil, well-tended garden has beautiful mature trees with a waterfall cascading down the hillside. There are scenic walks to be enjoyed from the lodge and in the immediate vicinity. The area is known for San rock art and wildlife and birdlife abounds. Also in close proximity are mountain hiking trails, off road cycling, birds of prey demonstrations and a reptile centre, hot air ballooning and helicopter flights, a championship golf course, the Drakensberg Boys Choir School, eateries and craft shops.
