True Karoo charm and authenticity.

Brakdakkie Guest Cottages have been lovingly created by the current owners over the past decade. The end result is a property of exceptional appeal and it holds a unique market niche in the Prince Albert hospitality sector. The main homestead is circa 1860, and has been artfully restored and brought into the modern era to create large open plan family living spaces with excellent outdoor flow to a shaded patio overlooking the garden with natural dam. The rooms are large and airy, and the yellow wood ceilings in the original parts of the house are magnificent to say the least. Each of the four self catering cottages have been individually designed to recreate an ambience of original Karoo comfort and style. Cool screeded floors, poplar beam ceilings and crisp white linen are the hallmark of the establishment. The overall theme is complimented by masterful addition s of quirky touches found in enamel paper roll holders, brass and copper light fittings, and imaginative use of discarded items from a bygone era. Each of the cottages have a plunge pool for cooling off on hot summer days. A separate original outbuilding, also of historic significance, houses the laundry and utilities. The large grounds with established trees and shrubs, and leiwater dam are reminiscent of the original town farm on which the house stood. Brakdakkie is sold as a going concern.
