House No 8 is situated on the headland of a nature reserve, surrounded by fynbos and overlooking jagged rocks that stand like sentinels before a wild ocean, safeguarding its privacy and pristine beauty.
Four of the rooms extend beyond aluminium glass doors, with sweeping views of the horizon on all sides and spectacle of the sea in perpetual motion, the other two bedrooms with beautiful mountain views. The heart of the home where everyone converges in the open – plan living, dining rooms and kitchen, or in front of the handsome fireplace. The outside braai area is wind protected with views of the Hangklip mountain.
In season, whales and dolphins in pursuit of large shoals of fish traverse the bay, and crayfish nestle in the fully directly in front of the house. Within a few minutes' walk, a vast stretch of fine sand beckons for long walks in search of precious shells, to harvest the mussel banks glistening on the rocks, or simply to admire flocks of birds that lift off at the sight of a majestic wave.
The wealth of indigenous flora and fauna has afforded Sea Farm the designation of nature reserve and it is a bird sanctuary that includes oystercatcher, Egyptian sacred ibises, cormorants, franklins and eagles. Other animals include the meerkat, mongoose, lynx, small buck.
