Renovator's dream in sought after street, Nieu-Bethesda

Situated on the western wing of the village, well known sculptor Frans Boekkooi's house in Pienaar street overlooks farmland from a stone stoep to the east, and is situated close to some of the various attractions the village has to offer. Frans' work is moving more towards bronze, and he would like to be closer to the foundries as well as his main client base. They are therefore relocating. The house overflows with character and potential. You kind of feel like you are walking into a movie scene, and expect some famous artist like Frida Kahlo to walk into the room at any moment. Your expectations are met when Frans, with his character larger than life, piercing eyes, and soft, caring nature walks in to show you around. Frans and Heidi does not beat around the bush when it comes to pointing out work that needs to be done or areas that need attention. This is indeed a classic house, where all that is needed is the right person with enough character, enthusiasm and vision to transform it into what has been in Frans and Heidi's mind's eye all along. The house consists of a living area with a fireplace, that opens up onto a stone stoep into the garden, bordered by the 'leivoor' on the western side. The living area is surrounded by 4 bedrooms (one with fireplace, and the main bedroom being huge), a study, kitchen, bathroom and big storeroom. One of the bedrooms used to be a bathroom, and could easily be converted into one again. The study (that can be used as anything really, depending on your needs) has a door that opens up onto the stoep on the east, overlooking farm land. The storeroom can ideally be converted into an en suite bathroom for the main bedroom, as it is adjacent to it. The possibilities are endless really... Frans' studio stands separate from the house, on Pienaarstreet, which makes it very practical if it is to be rented out as a self-catering unit. But again, the possibilities are endless. There is a bathroom with shower, toilet and basin, although not fully operational at the moment. Between the house and the studio is a courtyard, with a wall that separates the front of house and garden, providing privacy, so that the garden is not at all visible from the street. The garden, with various trees are sloped slightly, and would be easily transformed into an idyllic scene, as I recall sitting with Frans and Heidi and friends some years ago by a long table under the tree enjoying life, and everything around us.
