Gem in the Baviaanskloof

This expansive lifestyle farm shares a common boundary with the Baviaanskloof Mega Reserve which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. The property lies within a transition zone between Karoo and Fynbos which represents 6 of the 7 biomes of South Africa. Some of the world's richest floral kingdom is found in this area. The property is ideally situated midway between Uniondale and Willowmore and close to the western entrance of the Baviaanskloof. For convenience the George airport is about 200km away. A large up-market lodge offers accommodation for 10 people in 2 en-suite bedrooms and a sizeable en-suite bedroom for six. A spacious open-plan lounge with fireplace, dining room, kitchen, guest bathroom and undercover veranda with built-in braai creates the perfect entertaining area. Presently the lodge is frequented by visitors touring the Baviaanskloof, group adventures and family holidays. In addition, there is a neat 2-bedroom, open-plan manager's cottage. The very capable reserve manager is willing to continue his services should this be required. Majestic mountains, plateaus, valleys and seasonal rivers form part of the topography. The area is rich in San rock art. Naturally occurring game include the elusive Cape Leopard, kudu, steenbok, duiker, rhebok, klipspringer, caracal, African wild cat, aardvark, bushpig, aardwolf, jackal and many other smaller species. This mountain range is the source of the Kouga River which flows into the large Kouga dam in the Gamtoos valley of the Eastern Cape. The good road network enables one to experience the vast expanses by 4 x4, quad biking, mountain biking, day hikes and the possibility of horse trails. Included in the price are all the contents of the lodge, quad bikes, motor bikes, vehicles and machinery. Tranquility at its best.
