Proposed Extension 25, Malalane: The owner of this thirty-three hectares of land currently planted to sugarcane, initiated the change of land use during the period 2007 to 2009. The following studies were done at the time: • The Environmental Impact Report; • A geological investigation; • A traffic study; • The Department of Agriculture had no objection; • Support from Nkomazi Municipal Counsel; Two hundred and fifty-four thousand eight hundred cubic metre per annum of water is available. The development of all bulk infrastructure will be the responsibility of the developer. Outstanding: • Permission from the National Department of Agriculture to continue with the township; • A Record of Decision (ROD) from the Department of Agriculture and Land Administration in support of the township; • Letter of approval from TRAC. The approval has since lapsed, but could be reinstated.
