Francois Kotze

I am Francois Kotze

Hi, I’m Francois Kotze and I’ve been working with Pam Golding Properties since November 2010. I specialise in residential sales in Witsand in the Garden Route area. In my spare time I enjoy camping, boating, fishing, the outdoors and exploring with a 4X4 vehicle. I am passionate about Witsand and the Breede River and enjoy discovering remote areas in South Africa. Let’s get in touch and see how I can help you with your property requirements.

I was born and raised in Welkom. Welkom is a gold mining town in the Free State. I did all my schooling there and during those years I was a keen athlete and high jumper. After school, I was a medic for two years during National Service. Naturally, when it came time to start working, I followed my father's footsteps into mining. Each year for 3 years, I spent 6 months underground on the Reef in Randfontein, Gauteng and 6 months studying mining engineering at Wits Technicon.

During my engineering studies I was exposed to computer programming which I really enjoyed and brought me back into a daylight job. I.T. and programming initially took me back to Welkom and eventually to Cape Town. I was in I.T. for 24 years which exposed me too many industries and gave me the opportunity to travel frequently to Europe. While in Cape Town, my life partner and I enjoyed taking weekends away.

One of these weekends led to the happy discovering of Witsand at the mouth of the Breede River on the Cape South Coast. We visited for many years before finally buying a plot and building our own house. For the first 3 years, we visited our home-away-from-home twice a month. When an opportunity came up at the Pam Golding office in Witsand, I jumped at the chance to move to Witsand permanently and start a new career.

Since joining Pam Golding I have obtained my FETC: Real Estate, PPRE. My most notable sale was one where I sold a R4 million property in Witsand. I love meeting new people and helping them find their dream house. Seeing the surprise on their faces when I show them around and telling them that Witsand has no violent crime. The place is an absolute gem to stay in with the Breede River that is navigable by boat from the river mouth upstream for +- 40kms.
