Hello, I am Jonathan and I’ve been working with Pam Golding Properties since May 2015. I specialise in residential property sales in the Strandfontein and Mitchells Plain area. I am currently working as an intern estate agent working towards achieving my NQF4 qualification in Real Estate and ultimately complete the NQF5 qualification.

I have been in real estate since January 2010, working for 2 investment companies that buy and sell distressed properties, but due to the fluctuating market, I made a career change. During my 5 years in the industry I have gained a wealth of knowledge, and a thorough understanding of the dynamics in the business and industry. My journey so far at Pam Golding Properties has been an eye opener and I am looking at real estate not just as a means to an end, but as a means to help people and connect the right people to the right property.

My “farming area” that I service is the Strandfontein area, but I am allowed to sell in Mitchell’s Plain through our “Closed Farming”, “Open Selling” policy. Due to the amount of competition from other well established estate agent companies, it is difficult to secure mandates or listings, but I am always up for a challenge. Even though I have been with the company for less than a year, people are already recognising me when I knock on their doors, or in the street. My aim is to become a household name in the area, and receive referrals from clients that I have assisted, or even total strangers who found my number through my marketing strategy.

A career highlight for me thus far was in February 2016, I received an award for the most sales in units and property value for our office, and I am working hard to maintain this. My most noticeable sale has been of 2 commercial units to the same buyer. Due to it being the first time I sold commercial property, it was a very meaningful experience and I gained insightful knowledge.

I have always been told that selling property was one of the most difficult things in sales but in my experience it is not the case. Just like with any sales job, it’s not as much the product, but more about who and how it is being presented. You need to sell YOU first and half the battle is won. People are more about the service you give to them than the product you supply to them that suits their needs.

Whether it is a buyer or a seller, you still need to focus on their needs and satisfy them. My aim is to be the best I can be by improving my product knowledge and people skills.
