New state-of-the-art medical facility for Hermanus
A multi-disciplinary, state-of-the-art medical centre is opening in Hermanus in January 2017, known as Hermanus Medical Village.
This brand-new development will include a three theatre, 22-bed Hermanus Day Hospital, Hermanus Oncology Centre, Spescare, a 20-bed sub-acute facility and Hermanus Elderly Care Place frail care facility.
Given the uniqueness of the town of Hermanus, with its scenic coastline, whale watching attractions and tranquil ambience, Hermanus Medical Village has the potential to be marketed overseas as a medical safari destination.
The Absa Cape Epic 19-26 March 2017
In March 2017 the Absa Cape Epic returns to Hermanus for a spectacular 101km opening Stage, the first staging here since 2008. In the intervening years Hermanus has been turned into something of a mountain biking mecca, with a network of trails snaking across the nearby hills and valleys. Race director Kati Csak. “The riding around Hermanus is a lot of fun – with some tough climbs. As always, the route will test both the skills and the stamina of the riders.” The race ends with Stage 7 taking riders to the new Grand Finale venue – the sumptuous Val de Vie Estate near Franschhoek.
