Nelspruit, officially renamed Mbombela, the Siswati word for “a lot of people together in a small space”, is the capital of the Mpumalanga province and acts as a major stopover for tourists travelling to the Kruger National Park and to Mozambique. The whole area invokes the idea of a 'Garden of Eden', with a flourishing fruit industry and countless waterfalls which drop from dramatic cliff faces. With the economic development of the N4 Maputo Corridor, the city has transformed into a gateway for neighbouring markets, a business centre and a provincial capital.
Today, Nelspruit property prices are soaring and the city’s economy benefits from its close proximity to Mozambique and Swaziland. As so many tourists travel to Nelspruit, buying a house or flat for sale with the view of renting it out is extremely popular amongst investors. Commercial properties and farms for sale in Nelspruit are also popular amongst buyers as the area is a key manufacturing and agricultural hub for north-eastern South Africa.
