APRIL SEES RECORD SALES AT EDEN ISLAND, SEYCHELLES
As the luxury marina development, Eden Island in the Seychelles rapidly takes shape, with over 200 units already completed, Pam Golding Properties reports that R75m($10,7m) of sales were concluded in the month April (2010) showing a marked upturn in new business .

Comments Chris Immelman, MD of the Pam Golding Property group’s International Division: “These sales comprised five apartments, four maisons and two villas, ranging in price from USD355 000 to USD2.24 million each.

Substantial Increase in Interest
“Interest in this major development has increased substantially, and the fact that interested buyers can actually see completed homes and experience the lifestyle and facilities available on Eden Island has helped boost sales as tangible evidence of the development’s success does much to instill confidence in purchasers, particularly at a time when many other leisure developments around the world are struggling to sell.”

New Buyers Upgrade
Immelman says this is coupled with the fact that many new buyers are existing owners looking to upgrade to larger properties in the development, or family or friends of existing owners – all of which demonstrates the high desirability and sound investment of property on Eden Island.

And as many of these buyers are South Africans, the relatively strong value of the Rand continues to positively impact on sales to local purchasers.
Investment Value
“Having this kind of word-of-mouth endorsement among buyers reinforces the investment value of the development – both in terms of capital growth as well as the potential for income via rental return, while for other buyers the decision to purchase is clinched simply by the fact that they love the lifestyle so much,” he says.

Ideal Location
Eden Island is ideally located in a very temperate climate with temperatures ranging between 26 and 32 degrees Celsius all year round, and it’s also an excellent base from which to explore the rest of the islands in Seychelles.
