The
scent of wild herbs, the touch of warm light,
the taste of French cuisine. The soft Mediterranean
light and the sound of cicadas combine to imbue
a sense of well-being, a place to relax –
the land of Provence.
The scent of wild herbs
in the late Provencal sun and a perfect round
of golf…
With a championship-style golf course at its heart,
Provence Country Club, in the Pay des Sorgues,
offers a peaceful retreat in a land rich in history
and culture. The one and two bedroom apartments
nestle beneath the pine trees with views across
the fairways or towards the mountains of Le Lubéron.
The Provence County Club offers a rare opportunity
to live in an idyllic rural setting, where the
ease of modern day living combines with the facilities
of an exclusive country club – a home from
home with a touch of Provencal magic.
A land of vineyards, lavender fields
and olive groves…
Provence – the word conjures up the essence
of the Mediterranean way of life, a palette of
colours and scents.
From the wild horses of the Camargue to the mountains
of the Lubéron, hillside villages with
their bustling markets and shady squares, seaside
towns and fishing ports, Provence is full of contrasts
and hidden delights. Vivid lavender fields and
deep blue skies, ochre hued houses with pastel
shutters; soaring hills with soft mist lingering
in the valleys, cypress trees standing sentinel
and gnarled olive groves, fruit laden vines and
fields of wild herbs – a land rich in natural
colour and produce.
This land of plenty is a gourmand's delight –
crystallised fruit, cheese truffles, tapenade,
olive oil and honey. Not to mention the grape
– distinctive wines from top end ‘crus’
to vins de table; Côtes du Lubéron,
Côtes du Ventoux, Châteauneuf-du-pape,
Gigondas, Roussillon; wines to suit all occasions,
pockets and palates.
Enjoy the relaxed lifestyle of rural
France…
Golf, tennis, swimming, soaking up the sun or
relaxing in the shade; peace and contemplation
or socialising with neighbours, the facilities
at Provence Country Club can easily fill your
day. In addition, nearby there is a diverse choice
of activities and the energetic can indulge in
a host of sports including fly-fishing, riding,
mountain biking, trekking, quad biking, kayaking
and canoeing.
More leisurely pursuits could include a stroll
through the antique markets at nearby L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue
or a trip to the sea, a drive along the lavender,
wine and antique routes, or simply watching the
world go by from pavement cafes or enjoying a
lingering meal that sets the taste buds alight.
Welcome to your Country Club
From its elegant terraces the two storey
clubhouse commands fine views across rolling countryside
to the distinctive lavender blue mountains of
Provence.
Yet, for all its spectacular setting it offers
members and their guests the hallmark atmosphere
and amenities of a top international golf club.Distinctive
local ironwork balustrades blend easily with the
varnished oak and sumptuous carpets or tiling
of the traditional clubhouse. This is for people
who enjoy the traditional pleasures of a well-run
country club where the privilege of membership
brings attentive service, excellent facilities
and the relaxed warmth of Provencal living.
The Provence Country Club course is enjoyed by
men and women golfers with a wide variety of experience,
aptitude and ambition. Lines with sweet-smelling
pines and evergreen oaks, the well-maintained
fairways are, on the whole, broad and forgiving.
But some can be more challenging than they at
first appear with dog-legs requiring precise driving
and accurate fairway shots to get the best from
the more technically demanding greens.
Created by the leading French designer Jean Garaïalde,
the undulating heavy bunkered course, punctuated
by lakes and the Canal de Carpentras, offers sensational
views north and east over the forests and chalky
foothills of the Vaucluse and south to the rugged
horizon of Le Lubéron. Here and there sparkling
fountains, their cool waters gushing from beneath
the Provencal mountains, provide a refreshing
pause in the heat of a summer round.
Cooling pinewoods and mountain views
The one and two bedroom apartments are
set in clusters, either amongst the pine trees
looking south and west over the fairways or east
across the gently undulating country park towards
the blue mountains of Le Lubéron. In addition
to the 18-hole golf course, practice tees, pro
shop and clubhouse, tennis courts, a large swimming
pool, bar, épicerie and restaurant will
serve the needs of residents and members.
The properties benefit from a private patio or
balcony and echo the style of rural Provence with
colourful shutters, stone and painted walls and
tiled roofs.
The apartments are available on a furnished basis
to include sitting, dining, bedroom and terrace
furniture together with lighting, soft furnishings,
bedding and crockery.
