Introduction to Lowveld

Situated in the heart of the Lowveld and prime wildlife area of South Africa, the little town of Hoedspruit has been a destination for some time for those “in the know” and is now fast becoming a sought after destination for lovers of wildlife, tourism and investment. Land prices are escalating continuously and the lodges of the area, both private and commercial, are seeing an upsurge in interest. The potential for investment is huge, and serious interest is evident in the on-going purchases of land, lodges and private homes on wildlife developments by both local and overseas investors. The true African ambience of the Bushveld is unequalled anywhere else in South Africa and this is the ultimate in wildlife areas.

Overview

Baobab Tree
With the impressive backdrop of the magnificent Drakensberg Range and the endless vistas across the South African Bushveld, the appeal of this area is without peer. The beautiful permanently flowing Blyde and Olifants Rivers, which cover vast distances through the Lowveld, Kruger National Park and Mozambique to reach the Indian Ocean, provide the life blood of the area. The well-known wildlife Reserves of the Greater Kruger Area - Timbavati, Klaserie, Umbabat, and Balule and many others, provide a huge investment potential in a range of purchasing options.

Apart from the magical world of wildlife, the many diverse activities offered include a good sports club with facilities for golf, tennis, bowls etc, and close proximity to the Blyde Canyon, Pilgrims Rest and the newly opened Giyirondo Gate and border post from Kruger Park into Mozambique.
History
The history of the area goes back far beyond the emergence of the town of Hoedspruit, a mere 50 years old, which started life as a farm with a railway siding on the old Selati line and a small shop. Pioneers in Big Game hunting and cattle ranching settled the area and there are scores of exciting tales of adventure and life as it was in those far-off bushveld days.

Since those days, Hoedspruit and the environs have been “discovered” and the sleepy little town is being shaken awake with much investment from both local and overseas buyers for properties either in commercial lodges, Game farms and Reserves, private 22 ha stands in large conservancies, private homes and stands on Wildlife Estates.
