A marine and floral kingdom encompassing the entire coastal region form Gordon's Bay to Bot River vlei and inland to Grabouw and the Greenland Mountain.
The Kogelberg Nature Reserve which forms the core of the Biosphere is a fynbos floral kingdom with an incredible 1600 different plant species making it one of the worlds richest sites of plant diversity.
Within this unique environment exists virgin land, some 400-500m above sea level with a variety of soil, aspects and microclimates. The high, cool Elgin mountain plateau, with its close proximity to the sea and being protected by the mountains, is ideally situated for the production of premium varietal wines. |
